Feyenoord manager Arne Slot sought to downplay his altercation with Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone during their sides’ friendly on Sunday.
‘El Cholo’ was seen pushing his Dutch counterpart after the game at De Kuip, which was won by a controversial Naoufal Bannis goal in stoppage time.
Atleti had played the entire second half with 10 men due to the dismissal of Yannick Carrasco just before the break.
The Belgium international kicked out at Tyrell Malacia, an act which led to a fracas between the sides.
Tensions spilled over after the game as well, with Simeone seemingly annoyed that the winner wasn’t chalked off for offside.
Asked by ESPN about his coming together with the Argentine, Slot joked: “If there had been no one, I would have had a bigger problem.
“One on one, I would not like to meet him.”
The LaLiga champions now have a week to prepare before they begin the defence of their title with a trip to Celta Vigo.
