Feyenoord interested in SC Braga defender | OneFootball

Feyenoord intend to make an offer for SC Braga defender Sikou Niakaté, according to FeyenoordTransfermarkt. The 26-year-old was also a target in Rotterdam earlier this year.

In early April, 1908 reported that Feyenoord were “very impressed” with Niakaté’s playing style. Dennis te Kloese spoke highly of the left-footed central defender. “It’s not a question of if, but when Feyenoord will make a multi-million pound offer to Portugal for the Mali international.”

Feyenoord are short on defenders after the departure of David Hancko to Atletico Madrid and Thomas Beelen’s serious injury. Tsuyoshi Watanabe has already signed from KAA Gent, and now the Rotterdam side will still pursue the signing of Niakaté. FeyenoordTM assures that “Feyenoord will submit a formal offer for Niakaté on Wednesday.”

Niakaté, who has been playing for Braga since 2023, is under contract in Portugal until the summer of 2028. The 12-cap Mali international previously played for PSG’s youth academy, Valenciennes, and Guingamp. While the bid is unknown, Transfermarkt estimate his value at around eight million euros.
