Eredivisie champions Feyenoord have confirmed the signing of highly-rated teenager Korede Osundina from USL Championship side Orange County SC, the club announced on its website.

Osundina, 19, is the first player to transfer from cooperation partner Orange County SC to Arne Slot’s side, pictured, since the initiative started at the start of the year. The 19-year-old American signed a contract at De Kuip on Wednesday morning that keeps him at the club until mid-2026.

Mark Ruijl, Feyenoord’s director of football, said: “Korede is a multifunctional attacker who, despite his young age, has already played for two seasons in the first team of Orange County SC. He also belongs to the national youth selections of the United States. With his speed, power and focus, we are convinced that he can develop further under our wings and take the next steps in his career.

“For me it is a dream come true to be able to sign a contract with a large historic club like Feyenoord,’ says Osundina about his transfer to Rotterdam.

“I would describe myself as a fast attacker who likes to score goals. My goal is to further develop into a better player here and my feeling is that Feyenoord can help me with that.”

Osundina, who grew up in Redmond, Washington, started his football career at Crossfire Premier, where he was active for six seasons. In the summer of 2020, he transferred to Barça Residency Academy.

With the Under 19 team of the youth residence club of FC Barcelona, he was successful in the MLS Next Cup, among other things. In recent seasons, the attacker was under contract with Orange County SC, which plays in the USL Championship and with which Feyenoord has had a partnership since the beginning of this year.
