Feyenoord confirm Anel Ahmedhodzic signing from Sheffield United | OneFootball

Feyenoord have completed the signing of Anel Ahmedhodzic. The 26-year-old centre-back joins from Sheffield United and has signed a long-term contract at De Kuip until the summer of 2029.

In a statement on X, Sheffield United confirmed the transfer, saying, “The Blades have accepted a significant transfer fee for Ahmedhodzic. Everyone wishes him the best in the next chapter of his career.”

“Things have moved incredibly quickly these past few days,” the Bosnian said in an initial response on Feyenoord’s club website. “I couldn’t be happier. The fact that I can now play for such a major European club is something I’ve always worked so hard for.”

The transfer fee Feyenoord will pay to buy out the remaining year of Ahmedhodzic’s contract is currently unknown. Transfermarkt estimates the Swedish-born defender’s value at around 18 million euros.

Ahmedhodzic had been under contract with Sheffield United since the summer of 2022, having signed from Swedish club Malmö for approximately €4.5 million. Ahmedhodzic made 114 appearances for the English club, scoring twelve goals and providing three assists from defence.
