Fernando Ortiz hailed his side’s complete performance after they dismantled Pumas 3-0 in Saturday’s Clásico Capitalino.
Diego Valdés opened the scoring late in the first half before goals after the break from Jonathan Rodríguez and Alejandro Zendejas secured a resounding victory for the visitors at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario.
Asked who impressed him most for the Azulcrema, the manager said: “All. There is not a player that I have disliked; from the boys who entered the minute they had to enter.
“We achieved a victory that we needed because they deserved a victory in this way and more with the Clásico Capitalino, which in my opinion makes a difference.
“I am not one to observe if it is the best match of Tano Ortiz. What one has reflected in the head is reflected on the field of play and that is very satisfying.
“As I planned it, it came out, that is the message that reaches the players,” the 44-year-old added.
The victory moved Las Águilas up to ninth in the Apertura table, and they will now go look for a third consecutive league win when they visit Pachuca on Wednesday.
