Manchester United faced off against Coventry City at Wembley Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. The Red Devils made a good start to the contest and scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute when Scott McTominay got his name on the scoresheet. Harry Maguire doubled Man United’s advantage in the first half injury-time as Erik ten Hag’s men led 2-0 at the break.

Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0 to Man United in the 58th minute. However, Coventry struck back in the 71st minute via Ellis Simms’ effort. Callum O’Hare scored with a deflected attempt just eight minutes later before Haji Wright scored a dramatic equaliser for the Sky Blues from the penalty spot in injury time. The match ended 3-3 after normal time.

Both sides canceled each other out in extra time as the contest went to penalties. Man United ended up winning the shootout by a 4-2 margin which kept their FA Cup dreams alive.

GK: Andre Onana – 6.5/10

Onana made one important save in the shootout but won’t be pleased after allowing three goals in the final quarter of normal time.

RB: Diogo Dalot – 8/10

He did his fair share of defending and managed to pick up an assist as well. Dalot also scored his penalty in the shootout.

CB: Casemiro – 6.5/10

Casemiro kept things solid at the back for most of the game and was good on the ball. However, he missed his penalty in the shootout.

CB: Harry Maguire – 8/10

Maguire was a rock at the back and did well to score in the latter stages of the first half.

LB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6.5/10

Wan-Bissaka worked hard defensively and made two promising runs with the ball.

CM: Scott McTominay – 7/10

He was full of energy and running at the centre of the park and was responsible for scoring the opener in the 23rd minute.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo – 6.5/10

Mainoo proved his worth at times but lacked quality on the ball.

RW: Alejandro Garnacho – 7/10

He made a few dangerous runs with the ball but there was no goal for him.

CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 9.5/10

Fernandes created a lot of great chances for his teammates to score and has a goal and an assist to show for his efforts. He also scored his penalty in the shootout.

LW: Marcus Rashford – 6.5/10

Rashford was a threat at times but failed to find the back of the net.

ST: Rasmus Hojlund – 7/10

He worked hard in the final third and managed to score the winning penalty in the shootout.
