FC Barcelona are set to soon face off against Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park. In their next fixture in the UEFA Champions League, the Catalan giants will want to make a good impression. Despite the fact that this venue is renowned for its intense atmosphere, Barcelona will want to grab an important victory.

For Hansi Flick, however, Borussia Dortmund is a rather familiar opponent who he faced a lot during his days coaching Bayern Munich. Now, however, he will be taking on the German side with his new team from Spain, and he will likely be fielding a strong eleven for the encounter.

Here is how Barcelona could line up for the European clash.

Expected Line-up:

Goalkeeper: Inaki Pena

The Spanish goalkeeper has been solid on his own recently, and if anything, he has been let down by his team more often than not. For this game, there is no doubt that he will be the one starting for Barcelona.

Right-back: Jules Kounde

One of Hansi Flick’s most consistent performers this season, Jules Kounde will likely be a guarantee for this game as well. However, Dortmund’s forwards will be looking to give him a difficult time out on the right flank that he will be covering.

Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi

The young 17-year-old defender in Barça’s team has proven time and time again that the Champions League lights do not faze him. Once again, this time against Dortmund, he will likely end up getting the opportunity to prove that to everyone.

Centre-back: Inigo Martinez

Hansi Flick’s most trusted player this season, Inigo Martinez has a lot of reason to be confident about his involvement and his quality. The Spaniard, albeit a veteran now, continues to play with the intensity of a young player but with the mind of an experienced defender.

Left-back: Alejandro Balde

The opposite to Jules Kounde in many ways, Alejandro Balde offers a unique touch of flair and speed on the left flank. He can cause issues for the other team moving forward, but his recovery speed also allows him to track back effectively and suppress the opposition’s advances.

CDM: Marc Casado

While his partner in midfield can worry about controlling the game, Marc Casado is much more direct and to the point. Beyond just his technical quality and ability to make line-breaking passes, he is an animal in the midfield for Hansi Flick’s team and he just never seems to run out of steam.

CDM: Pedri

When it comes to the tempo of the game and making sure Barcelona remain in control, few names would provide the kind of quality that Pedri does. He has been instrumental for Barça this season and he could once again have the chance to show that against Dortmund.

RAM: Lamine Yamal

A true game-changer for Hansi Flick whenever he is on the pitch, Lamine Yamal’s involvement in this game will be crucial. His creativity, dribbling, and attacking finesse could all come in handy against an opponent that loves to put pressure on others.

CAM: Fermin Lopez

With Dani Olmo having struggled in the last game, and despite the €60m-rated Spaniard being given some rest after being taken off at the 60-minute mark against Real Betis, it may be time to place trust in Fermin Lopez again.

In high-intensity matches, particularly in the UEFA Champions League, the Spaniard has proven himself to be a resourceful and useful asset for Hansi Flick, and that could be the case once again.

LAM: Raphinha

The Brazilian forward has unlocked his best version yet as a footballer, and he will be hoping that it continues to be this way for him. Against Borussia Dortmund, Hansi Flick will be counting on him to wreak havoc.

Centre-forward: Robert Lewandowski

One of the best scorers in all of Europe right now, Robert Lewandowski is in red-hot form. The Polish ace managed to score in his previous outing for Barcelona as well, so he will be hoping to score against his former side Borussia Dortmund as well.
