Real Madrid have confirmed that Ferland Mendy will now face a spell on the sidelines.

The 27-year-old left back was missing from the side who drew 0-0 with Real Sociedad at the weekend, and the club have now revealed that he is suffering from injury.

The statement reads that Mendy has been diagnosed with a problem with the “semimembranosus muscle in his left leg.”

It’s been reported that the Frenchman is expected to be out for around two months while he recovers.
