Genoa striker Felipe Caicedo could terminate his contract with the Griffone in order to facilitate a move to Inter this month.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri would be open to signing the 33-year-old as a free agent during the January transfer window.

Caicedo is one of Inter’s primary names to potentially sign before the end of the window to reinforce their attack with Joaquin Correa out with an injury and Stefano Sensi still looking close to a loan move away.

The Ecuadorian has not featured regularly for Genoa, and even yesterday in new coach Alexander Blessin’s first match in charge only made an appearance off the bench.

Caicedo could agree a termination of his contract with the Ligurian club, and this would make a switch to Inter significantly likelier.

The striker has also been linked to a loan move to the Nerazzurri, but a free signing would interest them more, while coach Simone Inzaghi would welcome a reunion with the striker he worked successfully together with at Lazio.
