Federico Baschirotto might be the strongest footballer in the world right now.

Those who watch Serie A football closely will already be familiar with the 26-year-old defender, who joined promoted Leece from Ascoli last summer.

It’s hard to miss Baschirotto because of the sheer size of him. The man is an absolute unit.

Per WhoScored, Baschirotto has been Leece’s third-best performer in Serie A so far this season.

He made his latest appearance against Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma on Saturday - a match from which Leece emerged with a creditable 1-1 draw.

Baschirotto thought he’d scored his fourth league goal of the season in the seventh minute of the match, but the opener was officially ruled as a Roger Ibanez own goal.

Still, the ripped centre-back has managed to score an impressive three goals this season, making him the club’s joint-third top scorer in Serie A.

After netting his most-recent goal against Cremonese, Baschirotto celebrated by showing off his hulking muscles.

Opponents must be terrified when they see him up close.

They’ll be even more scared if they ever see Baschirotto whip off his shirt.

He wouldn’t look out of place in a WWE ring with that physique.

How did Federico Baschirotto get so ripped?

But how did Baschirotto get so big?

Well, the fact that he helps out on his family’s farm when he’s not playing football may partly explain why he looks like a Greek god.

Instead of going on holiday at the end of last season, like almost every other footballer, Baschirotto got to work on the farm instead.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims Baschirotto grew up with his brothers helping the family business.

One of his brothers said Federico had been going to the gym for the past eight years and that he only eats chicken and rice. They offer him a Florentine steak or a well-made pasta dish from time to time, but he’s not interested.

Whatever Baschirotto is consuming on a daily basis, it’s clearly working for him.

Discarded by Chievo at the age of 16, Baschirotto never stopped believing in his own abilities and is now reaping the rewards.

His shirt is now sold out in the Leece store and if he continues to impress then a move to an even bigger club at the end of the season will certainly be a very real possibility.
