Leicester City’s mixed emotions
Leicester City have lost both of their Barclays Women’s Super League matches against Chelsea by an aggregate score of 11-0. The Foxes hung on for 83 minutes before going down 2-0 at Kingsmeadow in October 2021, they then suffered an embarrassing 9-0 home defeat in March. Four of Chelsea’s nine goals came in the opening 12 minutes of that match.

Meanwhile, Chelsea arrive in the East Midlands in flying form. Emma Hayes’ side have won 16 of their last 17 Barclays Women’s Super League games.
Set pieces a reliable source for goals?
Including penalties, Chelsea have scored eight Barclays Women’s Super League goals from set piece situations this season, that’s more than any other club. At the other end of the scale, no side in the division have conceded more set piece goals than Leicester City so far (7).
