As per Geert-Jan Jakobs, FC Twente are close to signing Norwegian youth international Sondre Ørjasaeter. The left winger is known in his own country as one of the brightest upcoming talents.
The expected transfer fee exceeds the four million euros the Enschede club paid for Manfred Ugalde two years ago, the club’s most expensive signing since returning to the Eredivisie. FC Twente are eager for a player who can make a difference, as was evident in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to PEC Zwolle.
This potential move comes after the departure of Michel Vlap to Qatari club Al-Ahli SC. The 21-year-old winger Ørjasaeter is currently under contract with Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08, where he has played 46 matches for that club, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists.
Interestingly, Ørjasaeter completed the most dribbles in this season’s Eliteserien campaign (33). Only two players have been involved in more attempts on goal than the young Norwegian, too, who has taken 39 shots and created 29 chances.
