The Bees are still a contender for Premier League promotion, with a semi-final play-off lined up for Monday night against Bournemouth.

Quizzed about the Bees, Onyeka told bold.dk: "No, I have not heard. I've not talked to my agent lately. I'm trying to stay focused on the Super League so I've said we can talk about it afterwards, but I'm excited about what the future will bring me."

On Brentford's style, he continued: "They play a lot on strength, and they run a lot. I think I will fit in well. I watch English football more or less every weekend because Chelsea is my favourite team. So I've seen how they play in England and I think it suits my style well. It could be a good opportunity for me to switch there."

Onyeka, 23, is a Nigeria international and is coming up to his fifth year with FCM. The Danes snapped up the midfielder from Nigeria's Ebedei, which are a satellite club of FCM. Since then, Onyeka has helped FCM twice win the Danish Superliga in his burgeoning career.

This season the defensive midfielder, who stands at 1.83m, has played 38 appearances and scored four goals with FCM.
