Since joining FC Lorient in 2021, the Senegal international Sambou Soumano has spent loan spells at Eupen and Rodez during the 2022-23 season before being sent to Quevilly-Rouen for the 2023-24 campaign. Returning to Lorient last summer, he netted 14 goals in 32 Ligue 2 appearances, playing a key role in the club's promotion to Ligue 1.

His performances have clearly caught the eye of several English clubs, with Brentford particularly attentive. The Bees are entering a new era under Keith Andrews, who has been promoted to head coach. And according to Football Insider, Brentford have identified Sambou Soumano as a top target for the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old striker is entering the final year of his contract, a situation that could allow the Bees to negotiate a cut-price transfer.
