According to Bild, FC Köln are in negotiations with fellow Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg to sign Daniel Ginczek on loan until the end of the season.
Köln have allowed both Christian Clemems and Frederik Sörensen to depart the club in an attempt to free up budget to sign a striker in the January transfer window – per the report, the Billy Goats have a budget of just €500,000 and so, Ginczek would need to take a salary cut to join FC Köln.
Summer arrival Sebastian Andersson has been out with a knee injury whilst Anthony Modeste is yet to reach full fitness. 20-year-old Tolu Arokodare has also failed to establish himself in Markus Gisdol’s squad which resulted in the German experimenting with Ondrej Duda and Marius Wolf in attack against Hertha BSC on Saturday.
In 16 Bundesliga games this season, Köln have scored just 13 goals – equalling Schalke 04 as the joint lowest scorers in the top division.
