UEFA have tonight confirmed a hefty fine of €100,000 for FC Köln for recent crowd trouble against French side OGC Nice in the Europa Conference League on September 8.

The Bundesliga side are also banned from selling tickets for their next two away games in Europe, against Partizan Belgrade and FC Slovácko for “lighting of fireworks, throwing of objects and crowd disturbances.”

32 people were injured as Nice and FC Köln fans clashed ahead of their Europa Conference League game. According to AFP, this figure includes two police officers and a steward, which resulted in four hospitalised.

Köln captain addressed the travelling supporters, estimated to be around 10,000, following the events. He called on fans to “simply celebrate football in peace,” as over 650 police officers and 600 security guards were deployed.

Fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt have been fined €15,000 and have been given a partial stadium ban, which has been suspended for one year, for their racist behaviour against Marseille in the Europa League.
