FC Erzgebirge announce no deal for ex-Real Madrid midfielder Enzo Zidane: We'll stay in touch

Former Real Madrid midfielder Enzo Zidane remains a free agent.

Zidane, 25, has been off contract since leaving Almeria over the summer.

Talks were held with 2.Bundeslig outfit FC Erzgebirge, with Enzo even visiting the facilities, but it's now been confirmed he won't be offered terms.

Erzgebirge supremo Helge Leonhardt explained: "From a sporting point of view, it is not necessary. The team has proven to be competitive and have our full confidence. Also because of the economic restructuring of the club, I cannot be responsible for inflating the squad.

"Enzo Zidane remains a very interesting player for us. An arrival next season may make more sense than it would have now. Currently, reinforcement would be neither effective nor timely. I will certainly stay in touch with his family."
