FC Emmen present surprise new boss as coach arrives for first job in the Netherlands | OneFootball

Menno van Dam will become the new coach of FC Emmen, according to Voetbal International. The 41-year-old coach will be presented at the Drenthe club soon.

The intention is that Van Dam will be presented at FC Emmen at the end of this week or the beginning of the next. The search for a successor for the dismissed Robin Peter and interim trainer Alfons Arts was difficult. “After many cancellations, technical manager Nico Haak, however, found Van Dam.”

FC Emmen will be Van Dam’s first job as a head coach in the Netherlands, after he took his first steps as manager at Danish Superliga club Aalborg BK. He first managed to get promoted with Aalborg, but was sacked in April of this year.

Van Dam was previously active as a youth coach at SC Heerenveen and FC Groningen. Between 2022 and 2024, he went to work in Denmark as a youth coach at Brondby IF, before Aalborg approached him to become head coach.
