FC Dallas have signed center-back Sebastien Ibeagha through the 2024 Major League Soccer season, with options for 2025 and 2026.

He joins as a free-agent, after being released from LAFC’s roster ahead of the 2023 campaign. The 30-year-old defender started for the Western Conference side in their recent MLS Cup victory, and made several appearances throughout the season to inspire the Supporters’ Shield triumph as well.

Ibeagha originally joined LAFC midway through the 2021 season, in a trade from New York City FC. He also saw a stint with the Houston Dynamo, adding to his 94 MLS appearances overall.

The defender is set to join incumbent center-backs Jose Martinez and Nkosi Tafari as FC Dallas hopes to stun in the upcoming season.

The Western Conference team managed well in 2022, concluding the regular season in third place with a 14W-11L-9D record to make the playoffs. Nico Estevez’s team reached the Conference semifinals, losing 2-1 to Austin FC to officially end the campaign.

With only a few months to go until the 2023 season kicks off, FC Dallas are expected to make several changes to the roster.
