FC Bayern Women sign Inès Belloumou | OneFootball

Further reinforcement for FC Bayern Women: the German champions have signed Inès Belloumou from French top-flight club HSC Montpellier. The 22-year-old left-back has agreed a contract until 2025 and will wear the number 3 for Bayern. "I'm very proud to be able to play for FC Bayern," said the French U23 international. "It's a big, great club that a lot of players would like to play for. Since I was a child, I've been an FC Bayern fan and have several shirts."

De Sá Fardilha: 'A lot of potential'

Francisco De Sá Fardilha, technical director of women's football, is delighted that Belloumou has opted for Bayern: “Despite having other offers from big European and American clubs, since we first spoke it was clear that Inès only wanted to come to FC Bayern and to be a part of our project. Inès is an exciting talent who despite her youth has already amassed considerable senior and international experience. She has also passed through the French Federation's Pole France, a development centre accessible only to the country’s best athletes. We believe this is the right moment for her to move onto a new challenge, and that she has still a lot of potential to improve. We think she will achieve it in Munich by training every day with a welcoming group filled with world-class players and the expertise of our coaching staff.”

'A dream come true'

Belloumou was born in 2001 in Martigues, near Montpellier, and played for several years in Division 1 Féminine. "I'm still young and want to keep developing," said the Frenchwoman. "I want to win titles – the Bundesliga or even the Champions League. The transfer to Bayern is a dream come true. I've already gained quite a bit of experience but I want to expand my skills further here. I have a lot of energy and always want to win."

Belloumou has already completed her performance tests in Munich.

De Sá Fardilha: 'Inès is technically very adept'

De Sá Fardilha is convinced by the new signing's qualities, having already been made aware of the young talent while at his previous employers Bordeaux. Since then he's been tracking the 22-year-old's career. “Inès is left-footed and technically very adept," he explained. "She likes to play in possession and to progress on the pitch through passing combinations, which we believe will perfectly fit our style of play. She's an aggressive defender, strong in pressing, recognises opportunities to switch play and above all she hates to lose. We see this competitive spirit and fiery energy as assets that align well with our philosophy and the characteristics of the competitions we take part in."
