FC Bayern will play a friendly against Grasshopper Club Zürich on 20 August at 11:30 CEST. The clash with Switzerland's most decorated club will take place at the FC Bayern Campus. The match will be broadcast live and exclusively around the world on FC Bayern TV PLUS (subscription information) on our website fcbayern.com and in the FC Bayern app. ‘It shouldn't be taken for granted that Grasshopper Club Zürich agreed to play at such short notice because their season is already underway. We're delighted to be able to play this friendly and have also discussed a possible return match in Zurich,’ said FCB sporting director Christoph Freund.
Stephan Schwarz, Grasshoppers sporting director, added: “We’re looking forward to playing a friendly against Bayern Munich. It’s a fantastic opportunity to face one of the best teams in the world and give our players the chance to test themselves on an individual level.”
As with the previous friendlies against Düren, Tottenham Hotspur (twice) and Tirol, the game against Grasshoppers will be the fifth pre-season match that you can watch live with a subscription to FC Bayern TV PLUS on our website fcbayern.com or in the FC Bayern app. Get a subscription here.
It'll be the final friendly for Vincent Kompany's men before the start of the new Bundesliga season, which they begin away at Wolfsburg on Sunday, 25 August (15:30 CEST).

Legendary coach Ottmar Hitzfeld was in charge at the Zurich club between 1988 and 1991, leading them to two league titles, three Swiss Cups and the domestic Super Cup. The current coach is Marco Schällibaum, with Grasshoppers playing their home games at the Letzigrund.
The match also sees a reunion with Munich-born Benno Schmitz, who was an FC Bayern youth player. The now 29-year-old was on the books at the club from 2001 until his move to Salzburg in 2014. The full-back has made a total of 132 Bundesliga appearances in Germany for Köln and RB Leipzig.
