FC Bayern would like to extend Jamal Musiala’s contract as quickly as possible. The 21-year-old is not only indispensable in Munich in sporting terms, Musiala is also set to become the new figurehead of the German record champions. Apparently, Bayern are currently preparing an attractive offer for the attacking player.

Even though Jamal Musiala is still contractually tied to FC Bayern until 2026, those in charge at Säbener Straße would prefer to extend his contract on a long-term basis today. The DFB star has been linked with almost all of Europe’s top clubs for months. In England in particular, reports are doing the rounds that Manchester City and co. are already waiting in the wings and would be prepared to dig deep into their pockets for Musiala.

However, FCB do not want to hear any of this. The extension with Musiala is right at the top of Max Eberl’s to-do list. Even though there have been no concrete talks between the club and the player so far, the Munich club are preparing for the upcoming contract poker.

Bayern do not want to lose Musiala under any circumstances

As transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports, Bayern are currently preparing a „big offer“ for Musiala. In plain language, this means that the 21-year-old can expect a substantial pay rise. According to rumours, Musiala currently earns up to eight million euros per year. An extension would see this sum rise significantly.

The reasons for this are obvious: Bayern bosses see Musiala as an absolute key player for the club and want to retain him for as long as possible and ideally mould him into the new face of the record champions.

Whether Musiala will be able to compete with top earners such as Harry Kane, Thomas Müller or Manuel Neuer, who are all expected to earn €20 million or more, remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is that the youngster would make a considerable leap up Bayern’s salary rankings. With his current salary, Musiala is not even in the top 10.

Musiala is in no rush

Sporting director Christoph Freund already declared Munich’s clear interest in the player at the end of last year. Dreesen, Hainer & Co. have also repeatedly emphasised recently that they would like to extend their cooperation with Musiala beyond 2026.

However, according to information from Sky, Musiala does not want to focus intensively on his sporting future until after the European Football Championship. Concrete negotiations are therefore not realistic until July at the earliest. Musiala feels very much at home in Munich and is open to the idea of extending his contract. In addition to the financial framework, however, he attaches great importance to the sporting prospects at FCB. Both for him personally and in terms of Bayern’s competitiveness in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
