FC Bayern will start the 2024/2025 DFB Cup campaign at SSV Ulm. The draw was made on Saturday evening as part of the sportschau (ARD) TV programme at the German Football Museum in Dortmund by former Bayern striker Nils Petersen and DFB Vice-President Peter Frymuth.

In addition to several clashes in the Oberliga and the Regionalliga, FC Bayern have faced the Sparrows twice in the Bundesliga. The German record cup winners won both matches in the 1999/2000 season (1-0; 4-0). Mehmet Scholl, Carsten Jancker (2), Sławomir Wojciechowski and Paulo Sérgio scored for the men from Munich against the side from Baden-Württemberg.

First round ties between 16 and 19 August

The majority of the first round matches will be played between 16 and 19 August, with only the DFL Supercup participants Bayer 04 Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart playing on 27/28 August for a place in the second round. At the end of the season, the cup final will take place on 24 May 2025, as always in Berlin's Olympiastadion.
