FC Bayern Munich have confirmed that Michael Diederich will step down as the club's chief financial officer at the end of September.

The decision comes after Diederich opted not to extend his contract, which was set to run until the end of June 2026.

“After open and constructive discussions, Michael Diederich informed us that he will not be extending his contract at FC Bayern," said club president Herbert Hainer.

"We wish Michael all the very best for his future and thank him very much for his great service and the very successful time we have had together at FC Bayern. He has inititiated many topics and projects, brought a lot of new ideas and established important partnerships for the successful future of FC Bayern.”

Diederich, who has been with the club since 2018 and a board member since 2023, said:

“After two very intensive and successful years on the FC Bayern München AG board, I have decided to take on a new professional challenge. I thank the supervisory board for their trust and my colleagues Jan-Christian Dreesen and Max Eberl for the friendly working relationship. Even after the end of my activity, FC Bayern will always be the club of my heart.”

Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and board member for sport Max Eberl will take over the board's duties until further notice.
