Hermoso is a Barcelona legend, having played more than 200 games for the club across seven seasons.

During her time with the Catalonian side, she won seven league titles, five Copa de la Reinas, the Spanish Supercopa, and the Champions League. The latter was an achievement for the history books after Barcelona became the first ever Spanish side to win the European title.

Hermoso also has five Pichichi Trophies — awarded by newspaper Marca to the league’s top scorer — and a nomination for the Ballon d’Or to her credit.

A player of Hermoso’s calibre making it to Liga MX Feminil has created quite a stir among the league’s fans.

Hermoso had offers from Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, as well as interest from other Mexican teams. She also had an option to renew with Barcelona. The striker eventually decided to go to Pachuca.

Hermoso scored 181 goals in 224 appearances for Barcelona. The player penned an emotional Twitter post for the Barcelona fans and thanked them for their support over the years.

New Journey In Mexico

Following her spells with Tyresö in Sweden and Paris Saint-Germain in France, Liga MX will be the striker’s third international experience.

With leagues around the world growing, the arrival of Hermoso in Mexico is exciting for Liga MX. More teams within will want to make big signings and find a means to stop Hermoso defensively.

The Spaniard’s arrival in Mexico has caused great joy to the fans, who have continued celebrating on social media. Her presence in Mexico helps the club and draws greater worldwide attention to the league.

However, her formal arrival date is yet to be confirmed as she is currently rehabilitating in Madrid from a knee injury preventing her from competing in the Euros with Spain.

Hermoso expects to be able to play as soon as possible for coach Juan Carlos Cacho, who is currently preparing for Apertura 2022.

The Apertura 2022 is set to begin on July 8th.
