Fazio edges closer to Salernitana
RomaPress
Federico Fazio is getting closer to reuniting with former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini at Salernitana, reports Tuttomercatoweb.
The 34-year-old centre-back has spoken with Sabatini and is now convinced of the destination. He is expected to join Salernitana on loan until June.
His contract with Roma was set to expire in the summer. Fazio had been excluded from Mourinho’s plans since pre-season, but the Argentine international refused at first to consider any incoming offers.
Walter Sabatini’s influence ultimately made the difference after weeks worth of negotiations. Roma have already given their green light for the transfer to take place before the end of the January window.
