Sheffield United went top of the FA Women’s Championship on goal-difference after a 3-0 victory over Watford.

Sheffield United scored twice in the opening ten minutes against Watford, Lucy Watson setting up Courtney Sweetman-Kirk before netting via a Jess Clarke cross. Watson fired in her second of the day soon after the interval.

Durham are level on points with the leaders, following a 2-0 win at Bristol City. Liz Ejupi scored her first for the Wildcats before the break and following handball in the box, Beth Hepple converted from the spot.

Lewes held morning leaders Sunderland to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light, but for a late own-goal they might have taken all three points.  Rhian Cleverly headed the Rooks in front from a corner but inside the last ten minutes, Faye Mullen’s delivery was turned into her own net by Rebecca McKenna.

Liverpool edged Crystal Palace 2-1 to climb to fourth in the table. Taylor Hinds took only seconds to find the net, Siobhan Wilson’s cross drifted straight in to level the scores but Ashley Hodson swiftly struck to restore the Reds’ advantage.

Charlton Athletic beat Blackburn Rovers, as Ella Rutherford curled in a shot before the break, then Emma Follis came off the bench to open her account for the Addicks.

Coventry United got off the mark in a 2-2 tie at London City Lionesses but had been two goals up through A Rio Hardy opener and Rianna Jarrett own-goal. Jarrett then halved the deficit and Harley Bennett equalised, after which both sides were denied a winner by the post.
