Barcelona will entertain Real Madrid at the Nou Camp on Sunday afternoon as they look to make it two wins on the spin in La Liga. Earlier this week, the Catalan giants managed to grind out a 1-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Champions League. Hence, we can expect Ronald Koeman’s men to be confident about securing a good result versus Los Blancos this weekend.

Barca could set themselves up in a 4-3-3 formation and might play Ansu Fati from the start. Luuk de Jong is likely to make way for the Spanish winger as he drops to Koeman’s bench following another goalless outing in midweek.

Defence

Marc-André ter Stegen will feature in between the sticks for the Catalan outfit after keeping an easy clean sheet at home against Dynamo Kyiv. Gerard Pique will probably play alongside Clement Lenglet at the heart of the Barca defence as they look to figure out a way to stop Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior from finding the back of the net this weekend.

Oscar Mingueza will operate at right-back, while Jordi Alba would hope to put on another solid showing as the left-back. Koeman will instruct both his full-backs to dominate the ball and offer enough support to their teammates up top.

Ronald Araujo won’t be available for selection this weekend as he is still recovering from a hamstring injury.

Midfield

Koeman could stick with the same midfield that started against Dynamo Kyiv. Hence, we can expect to see Gavi function along with Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong at the centre of the park as they focus on engineering some promising chances for the front players.

Riqui Puig and Nico Gonzalez will have to settle for a place on the bench but could come on to make an impact in the latter stages if required.

Attack

Ansu Fati could get a start down the left flank while Sergiño Dest focuses on producing another excellent display on the right. Memphis Depay will operate as Koeman’s primary centre-forward and is expected to be Barca‘s best hope for a goal in this Clasico.

As mentioned earlier, Luuk de Jong will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to impress in the final quarter of the game if needed.
