The towering Cameroonian striker is set for a new adventure in Serie A.
Faris Moumbagna / OM
Faris Moumbagna is on the verge of experiencing a new league. The Cameroonian forward landed in Italy on the night of Tuesday, August 26, 2025, where he will finalize his transfer to Cremonese, a Serie A side, from OM in the coming hours.
Moumbagna has already set foot on Italian soil, where he is scheduled to undergo his medical and sign his contract with U.S. Cremonese. Barring any last-minute surprises, the club’s official announcement is expected within hours. Promoted to Serie A this season after an impressive Serie B campaign, the modest Italian side has been working hard to strengthen its attacking options. The arrival of Faris Moumbagna is seen as a major reinforcement to tackle what promises to be a grueling season.
The transfer is structured as a loan with a purchase option. This deal will immediately bring €300,000 to Olympique de Marseille. Most importantly, the clause set between the two clubs suggests a permanent move could be on the horizon. In fact, Cremonese will be able to trigger the option for €7 million at the end of the season.
Signed by Olympique de Marseille in January 2024 from Bodø/Glimt (Norway), Faris Moumbagna never quite lived up to expectations at the Vélodrome. Despite a promising start, he struggled to adapt to Ligue 1, receiving limited playing time under various coaches. Now, looking to reignite his career with a stable and ambitious project, the Yaoundé native has been won over by Cremonese’s management, who made him a top attacking priority.
"Ready to get started, I’m very happy to be back on the pitch and enjoy myself. I chose Cremonese because of the confidence they showed in me. I believe this is the best team to help me get back to playing and make a fresh start. I hope to score many goals for Cremonese and help the team," said Faris Moumbagna upon his arrival in Italy.
