Ajax assistant Dave Vos is on the wish list of Go Ahead Eagles if Paul Simonis leaves, sources have told VoetbalPrimeur.

The club from Deventer is preparing for their manager’s potential departure and see the 42-year-old Vos as a candidate to succeed him. According to the Algemeen Dagblad, Vos will soon leave the Amsterdam club.

Vos worked as assistant to Francesco Farioli at Ajax last season. After that recent departure, the Italian was succeeded by club man John Heitinga. Although Vos still has a contract in Amsterdam until the summer of 2027, he is open to the next step in his career, this time as head coach. There is an understanding that this deal will be mutually terminated.

The young coach has a solid track record within the Ajax organisation. He was previously the head coach of Jong Ajax in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie and worked as a youth coach at De Toekomst for a number of years.

Before that, he was also active abroad, as assistant to Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Rangers, where he gained experience in the Scottish Premiership and Europe.
