Ajax head coach Francesco Farioli made some statements after the 2-0 victory against Twente.
The success, however, was not enough and the leaguewas won by PSV, who recovered nine points from the Lancers and placed first in the standings with 79 points (+1 on Ajax).
“The love for this club is something that will stay with me forever,” Farioli told ESPN.
“My coaching career has only just begun, but what this team has given me and how it has represented me is unique. It means everything to me.”
“I love to turn the page and look to the future, but today let me focus on this really exciting day. I’m feeling so many feelings. The future? We’ll think about it from tomorrow morning.”
“My future? The future of Ajax is more important,” he concluded in the face of increasing links with the likes of Roma who are yet to appoint a new manager.
