The young Swedish midfielder made headlines when he snubbed the Catalan giants in favour of a move to North London last year.

For a player so young, this bold choice raised eyebrows, especially considering the competition and pressure that comes with playing in the Premier League.

At just 18 years old, Lucas Bergvall has already had to navigate a steep learning curve. Initially, his decision seemed questionable as he struggled for minutes on the pitch.

Lucas Bergvall joined Tottenham from Djurgardens in January last year, with reports suggesting FC Barcelona had a verbal agreement to sign him.

However, Spurs swooped in with a more lucrative offer, convincing the midfielder and his agent to choose the Premier League over La Liga.

Reflecting on his choice, Bergvall told The Sun: "When I decided, I thought that Tottenham was the best club for me. It is a great club with good ambitions. I feel I am getting better every day.

"Training with all the boys and all the staff, I’m getting used to it. It’s not an easy change coming from the Swedish league."

Bergvall journey hasn’t been without challenges. The physicality and intensity of English football posed significant obstacles, and early in the season, playing opportunities were hard to come by.

However, perseverance and hard work have seen him break into the first team, proving his ability to adapt to the Premier League’s demands.

Sarr told The Sun: “He’s never under pressure when he’s on the ball. Technically, he’s fantastic.
