Inter’s Champions League rivals, Barcelona, were forced to extra time in the Copa del Rey Final against Real Madrid on Saturday night, prompting fans to react with several posts on social media.
The Nerazzurri visit the Catalans at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal on Wednesday, April 30, while the decider will be played at San Siro on May 6.
Inter’s Serie A match against Roma was initially scheduled for Saturday, but was postponed to Sunday out of respect for Pope Francis, whose funeral was held in Rome yesterday.
However, Barcelona may also have to deal with some fitness issues, given that they needed extra time to beat Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid 3-2 in the Copa del Rey Final last night.
Barcelona will surely be forced to cope without their best scorer, Robert Lewandowski, against the Nerazzurri, while Simone Inzaghi hopes Marcus Thuram will return to action after missing games against Bologna, Milan and Roma.
Fans on social media have reacted to Barcelona’s latest effort to win the Copa del Rey, which, however, could prove costly in their upcoming game against Inter.

Forcing extra time so they’re more tired for Inter. Wow. pic.twitter.com/FhmxfCX6zo — 🎻 (@TacticalPystake) April 26, 2025

If this young Barca team can beat Real Madrid in extra time of a final, then believe me Inter or any other opponent is nothing to deal with The treble is well and truly on pic.twitter.com/dCeHc9ZDDi — K (@StopThatXavii) April 26, 2025

We can’t take Inter to extra time oo…they might finish us with physicality…idk I’m just scared — Eyram🌕 (@EyramCosmos) April 27, 2025
I just didn’t like that we had to go to extra time… we really need strength against Inter — jibolsky (@folarinajibola) April 27, 2025
I like that they went to extra time. Barca for sure will be more mentally and physically exosted by this. And yes Inter can’t missplace passes especially in the defensive third. But in our case one striker (more oftern Lautaro) is always deep in that space so…. — Ivan (@IvanKrii2) April 27, 2025
the fact that they went extra time might be good for us. I’d say they looked tired in the last 20 minutes before the extra time too — Pixel🐞 (@pixelyzd) April 27, 2025
Only positives from this game is that we made Barca play extra time and they have to play inter mid week so more mileages of their legs🥲 — Fredrick Kun🥶 (@KunFredrick) April 26, 2025
