Famalicao’s on-loan Spaniard Adrian Marin attracting interest from Portugal and Spain
Football Espana
Famalicao are close to securing safety from relegation.
The Portuguese side recorded an important 3-1 victory over Estoril de Praia this weekend to leave them on 33 points. That’s seven clear of the Primeira Liga relegation zone.
And a Spaniard was key to their success. Adrian Marin, on loan from Granada, scored his third goal of the season in the victory.
Marin, in truth, has been excellent all season according to Marca.
Famalicao are pleased with how he’s done and will trigger an option to buy included in the loan deal for €1m at the end of the season and from there the Portuguese side plan to sell him.
There’s no shortage of interest in his services from Portugal and Spain. Rayo Vallecano and Mallorca are two possible destinations but Lisbon giants Benfica are also in the picture.
They’re planning for eventualities should Alejandro Grimaldo depart the Estadio da Luz as is expected. They’re going to need to bring in another left-back if he does.
Marin has provided three goals and two assists this season, numbers that are far from shabby given they’ve come playing for a team currently placed 13th in the league table.
Marin, 25, was born and raised in Torre-Pacheco. He came through the youth system at Villarreal and has also played for Leganes (on loan from Villarreal) and Alaves.
