Fiorentina midfielder Nicolò Fagioli dreams of becoming a key player for Italy national team admits Moise Kean called him a few times to convince him to join the Tuscans in January.
Fagioli released an interview with Sky Sport Italia, talking about the first few weeks in Florence.
The 24-year-old joined the Tuscans on a permanent transfer from Juventus in the winter transfer window, joining his compatriot Kean.
The latter had switched the Bianconeri with the Viola over the summer and is the second-best Serie A scorer this term.
“He was certainly coming from a slightly difficult period because he was playing a bit less. He came here and did great, confirming himself as the great player he has shown to be,” Fagioli said via TMW.

“I’m happy for him because he’s a friend; I spent many years with him, and he’s having an extraordinary season.”
Fagioli admitted Kean had a key role in his move to Florence.
“He definitely played a role because he made two or three calls to me, convinced me, and spoke very highly of the city, the team, the teammates, and the club. So, it’s also thanks to him that I’m here.
What is Fiorentina’s goal this season?
“The team’s goal, to aim high, has to be the Champions League,” Fagioli replied.
“We all know it’s difficult because many teams are fighting for that objective, but we must aim high. We also know it’s tough, and even qualifying for the Europa League would be a great achievement.”
How about his personal targets?
“My personal goal is to do very well in this team, have consistency, play as much as possible, and try to return to the national team,” he said.
“Coming here will allow me to showcase myself and try to return to the national team. That is my biggest goal.”
Italy CT Luciano Spalletti recently praised Fagioli for his vision in the middle of the park.
“First of all, I thank coach Spalletti for those words,” Fagioli concluded.
“Becoming a key player for the national team is a dream for everyone since childhood. I believe in it, and I hope for it. I work hard and will continue to work hard to achieve this goal.”
