Fabrizio Romano says Man Utd are waiting for Paul Pogba’s contract decision | OneFootball

Manchester United are waiting for Paul Pogba to make a decision on his contract at the club, according to reports. The 28-year-old midfielder has less than one year remaining on his current deal and is free to speak to foreign clubs in January.

Pogba has started the new season in brilliant form, registering seven assists in just six games so far. The Frenchman’s outstanding form comes after starring for his nation at this summer’s European Championship.

Pogba is still under contract at United after signing a six-year deal in 2016 but the Old Trafford club are at the risk of seeing him leave for nothing for the second time in a decade.

According to journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, United are now waiting for the midfielder to make a decision for his future after making a contract proposal.

“Manchester United are waiting for the final choice of Paul Pogba,” Romano wrote in his BenchWarmers column. “The new contract has already been offered for months, Paul must make a personal decision and not just an economic one together with his agent Mino Raiola; sign a further long contract with Man United or try a different experience?

“Pogba has been loving the atmosphere created in the club in recent months but has not yet given an answer. The club will insist and hope to be able to extend the agreement soon.”

There certainly seems to be a hint of optimism from Manchester United’s point of view but ultimately, the decision will fall on Pogba.

Pogba was linked with a summer transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in the last window but a move never materialised with United continuously and consistently denying claims.
