Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal youngster Ayden Heaven is leaving the Gunners and is on his way to Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on X that Heaven has turned down the chance to stay at Arsenal and has agreed to move to Premier League rivals United.

The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have already booked a medical for the 18-year-old central defender.

Romano wrote: “Ayden Heaven to Manchester United, here we go!

“Exclusive story from last week confirmed as 18 year old centre back’s set to leave Arsenal and join #MUFC.

“Medical booked after he rejected new deal from Arsenal and Eintracht approaches.

“Agreement being formally sealed.”

View: Arsenal need not worry about losing Ayden Heaven

Heaven is a very good and promising young defender who has done well for the Arsenal youth side and has also been part of Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad on a number of occasions.

The England Under-19 international central defender has played once in the EFL Cup for the Arsenal first team this campaign.

While Arsenal would be disappointed that Heaven will not be part of the club going forward, they need not worry too much about it.

After all, Heaven is only 18 now and is still developing as a footballer. He was never going to be ready for the Gunners’ first team for a fair few years, especially with Gabriel and William Saliba having established themselves as the first-choice centre-back pairing at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 47 points from 23 matches, six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have played 22 games.

Meanwhile, United currently find themselves 12th in the league standings with 29 points from 23 matches.

The North London club are also third in the League Stage table in the UEFA Champions League with 16 points from seven matches, five points behind leaders Liverpool.
