Bayern Munich are working on multiple contract extensions as several senior players have entered the defining stage of their current deals. While Bayern are hopeful of securing the futures of several players, Alphonso Davies is looking likely to be on his way out of the club at the end of the season.

According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, talks between Bayern and Alphonso Davies have completely stalled. He believes it will take a miracle from Bayern to change this situation and extend his contract. The Italian journalist insists that sources close to negotiations have told him that there is not more than a 10% chance of Davies staying at Bayern.

Die Roten had reopened contract talks with Davies in the summer after making a take it or leave it offer in March. Max Eberl was reportedly open to improving the offer, but Bayern's board decided against caving into the demands of the left-back’s agent. The Bavarian club decided to allow Davies to enter the final 12 months of his contract.

Bayern have not ruled out a contract extension for Davies, but they want the new deal to be agreed on their terms. With both parties not budging over their stance, a resolution looks unlikely. Davies will be free to talk with interested clubs in January for a pre-contract agreement regarding a free transfer in the summer.

Three European giants vying for the signing of Davies

FC Barcelona have financial constraints when it comes to meeting Davies's salary demands. However, they have reportedly held positive talks with Davies. Meanwhile, Manchester United has also shown interest in Davies. The Red Devils have a lesser chance of signing Davies since there is uncertainty of consistent Champions League football at Old Trafford.

The next couple of months will give clarity regarding Davies' long-term future. As of now, Davies is currently enjoying a good run of form for Bayern. After getting back in the starting XI at the start of September, Davies has delivered consistent performances for Vincent Kompany. It is a massive shame that Die Roten will lose Davies on a free transfer, but the Bavarian faithful will hope that the 23-year-old defender helps the club win several trophies this season.
