Journalist Fabrizio Romano is confident that Liverpool will make a move for Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham next summer.

Romano is confident that the Bundesliga club will retain the 18-year-old ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

However, the reporter further added that he expects Liverpool to make a move for Bellingham next summer.

“I think Jude Bellingham will stay at Borussia Dortmund this summer. I have no doubts about that,” he told Wett Freunde.

“Dortmund are convinced that the player will stay and he is ready to stay. I don’t see any problems between the two parties.

“But I’m sure Liverpool will enter the race for Jude Bellingham next summer.”

Romano further added: “Let’s wait and see what Borussia Dortmund plans to do next summer.

“But Liverpool will be in the race for him. And not just Liverpool. Because all the top clubs, not only from England, but also from Spain, are monitoring the situation around Jude Bellingham. I’m sure when the moment comes, Liverpool will be there.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We do hope that Romano is correct. Bellingham would be a fine addition to Liverpool's midfield.

He can score and create. The most impressive thing about Bellingham from our point of view is that he has already made 15 appearances for England's national team. He is only 18 years of age.

We would prefer to see the Reds make a move for Bellingham this summer. But, if Borussia Dortmund are not going to budge, then so be it.

It has been reported that Liverpool won't be signing anymore players this summer. However, transfer windows tend to throw up a surprise or two.

Only time will tell if Jurgen Klopp is finished adding footballers to his squad this summer.
