Fabrizio Romano expects Liverpool to make a major move within the ‘next hours’ as they prepare for an overhaul in 2024.

Fabrizio Romano claims Liverpool will make a major push for Arne Slot later today. The Reds want him to be their next manager, with only a compensation agreement with Feyenoord standing in their way.

Slot is eager to make the move, it seems. Feyenoord, naturally, aren't so eager to lose their prized manager.

Liverpool will 'insist' on finding a compensation package today, though. They want this sorted on the club side, says Romano, so the Reds can properly push forward.

"Liverpool will insist in talks with Feyenoord also in the next hours to reach an agreement on compensation,” said Romano on X.

“LFC want to get Arne Slot deal done on club side soon, as there's no issue on contact talks with the manager and his representative so far.”

Arne Slot to Liverpool

Reports on Wednesday suggested that Feyenoord do have a price in mind - €15m. Liverpool only offered €9m, however, despite almost certainly knowing that demand from the Dutch side.

And so if the Reds are 'insisting' on movement the next day, it sounds as though they're about to get very close to the €15m figure. Doing so would create a domino effect, really, as Slot is supposedly ready to commit.

If Romano is right, then, Liverpool are about to get their new manager. It's an enormous puzzle piece for the rebuild and one that should also trigger transfer activity.

The Reds would know their playing style, their formation, and what they'd realistically need to spend this summer. They'll also have an idea of who to move on - something that could ultimately be the biggest factor overall.

This is news we've all been waiting for, though. Liverpool's next era will almost certainly have Arne Slot at the helm.
