Liverpool are currently not pursuing a deal for Rodrigo de Paul, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
The Reds are being linked with a lot of names at the moment, given it’s the January window and they remain short on defenders.
But Rodrigo de Paul is another to be touted as of interest to the Reds, despite him being an attacking midfielder.
However, Romano has confirmed that there is no interest from L4 in the Udinese star with him explaining on Twitter:
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Liverpool, if they sign anyone this month, will surely go after defenders and so it’s perhaps little surprise to hear that there is nothing in the rumours linking the Udinese man with a switch.
Though it’s not massive money compared to recent markets, in the current climate it’s quite a decent sized fee for a player that, whilst possessing quality, isn’t needed desperately at the moment by the Reds.
With three goals from midfield in Serie A this season, there’s a good chance, at that price, de Paul will remain with his current club for now and time will only tell if, in the future, a side looks to take him away.
