Arsenal are the latest club to show an interest in Max Aarons, with the defender attracting plenty of attention following his outstanding season with Norwich City.

The right-back has established himself as one of the top talents in his position in England following his displays for the Canaries over the years.

Unsurprisingly, such form has already put Aarons on the radar of top clubs in Europe. A move to Barcelona was rumoured last year, whilst Bayern Munich and Manchester United have kept tabs on the 21-year-old this season.

Even though Daniel Farke’s men have won promotion to the Premier League, a summer move feels inevitable, and it has been reported that Norwich have reached an agreement with Aarons that they will let him leave providing a big offer comes in, as a reward for his loyalty in the past.

And, speaking on his podcast, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Aarons is highly appreciated by key figures at the Emirates Stadium.

Bringing in a new right-back is sure to be a priority for Mikel Arteta this summer, with the update claiming Emerson, who is currently playing for Real Betis, is another on their list of targets.

The verdict

Aarons is a hugely talented player and it’s no surprise to see another big club show an interest in him.

From his development perspective, joining Arsenal would be a great move as he would back himself to force his way into the XI and his attacking style should suit the way Arteta wants to play.

Of course, it’s going to come down to money though. Having won promotion, Norwich are in a position where they will hold out for a significant fee and it will be interesting to see which club stumps up the cash.
