FC Barcelona are working actively to sign a new left-winger this summer and it is a big deal for them. After all, it is reportedly the only major demand that Hansi Flick has made this summer. Now, it finally seems like Barcelona are ready to take a big step forward.

Over the last few weeks, two left-wingers in particular have been linked to Barça quite heavily. One of those two players is Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, but it remained clear that La Blaugrana would not overextend themselves for his signing even though he was considered their priority target.

The alternative target to him, however, remained Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. In his case, however, Barcelona had reportedly decided to pursue his signing only if the operation was something that was advantageous for the Catalan club.

Now, it seems that they have decided which winger to pursue and an official bid has already been sent. According to the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have now sent an official bid to Manchester United in order to pursue Rashford’s signing.

The proposal looks for a loan deal with an option to buy included in it. Moreover, Romano has confirmed that talks have been ongoing recently between all parties especially since Barcelona now consider the Luis Diaz deal to be too expensive.

Things are now advancing fast

A deal that is approved by Hansi Flick, with previous reports even claiming that he had given his green light for it, things are now advancing fast. With this more accelerated approach, it now seems likely that Rashford is the final piece of the puzzle that Barcelona are looking to bring in.

It remains to be seen how things evolve from here, but various reputable reports are not in agreement. Diaz seems to be too expensive, and Rashford is now the priority target for Barcelona considering that they have sent an official bid for him.
