To do that, however, the team will first need to be reinforced and improved with all the right profiles. However, new arrivals are not the only way through which Barcelona can improve their current squad and prepare themselves for the future.

Even contract renewals for key players is a big step in the right direction, and Barcelona seem to already be working on that. Fortunately, however, it would now appear that La Blaugrana have managed to finally reach an agreement with one of their most important players.

Fabrizio Romano provides an important update

As per the latest update from Fabrizio Romano, 28-year-old Barcelona star Raphinha has reached an agreement with the club to extend his contact and all details have now been sorted out. This now means that the player’s stay beyond his current contract with the team is guaranteed moving forward.

In terms of the provided details, it has been agreed upon that the player will have another additional year added on to his current deal that expires in 2027. Instead of that expiry, Raphinha’s new deal with Barcelona means that he gets to represent the club until 2028 now.

Raphinha is loving life at Barcelona

With the kind of season he has been having, it seemed almost inevitable that his contract would be renewed with Barcelona. However, at the same time, reports are suggesting that other unique profiles may also be looked at for the left wing position that Raphinha currently occupies.

One such option being considered right now is reportedly Luis Diaz, who currently plays for Liverpool in the English Premier League. However, only time will tell just how the summer transfer window unravels for Barcelona and whether or not the Catalan giants are able to make any big advancements.

As for the signing of this new contract, it will take place after Hansi Flick has signed his own renewal with Barcelona. For now, it is expected that the German coach will indeed put pen to paper by tomorrow.
