Chelsea are expected to be in the race to sign one of the big names of next summer, according to a fresh Fabrizio Romano report today.

The transfer expert has been writing his latest updates on his Substack Newsletter, and as always, Chelsea are featured.

The Blues have just had a very busy and expensive transfer window, and that is expected to continue into the next two or three windows as they continue the big squad rebuild under the new ownership.

The attack is one area that they are expected to be looking at, and Romano claims that Chelsea will be in the race to sign Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig next summer.

Nkunku will have many clubs interested in signing him, and Chelsea will be up there, having been interested in the attacker recently.

“There will be many clubs in the race for Nkunku next summer, including Chelsea as they’ve always been interested and attentive to his growth,” Romano said.

“Nothing has been decided yet on the next step, it will be in 2023 – Nkunku will be one of the big names next summer.”

Chelsea have struggled in attack in recent seasons, but they are also expected to be looking at revamping the midfield as well. More work to do!
