Cesc Fabregas explains his tactical tweaks as Como take the game to Milan at San Siro, insisting he feels he is ‘at the core of this project’ for the long-term.
It kicks off at San Siro at 17.00 GMT.
Como seem to have switched to a 4-2-3-1 formation for this trip, leaving Maxi Perrone on the bench to make it a very attack-minded side, with a trio supporting ex-Milan centre-forward Patrick Cutrone.
“I think we lacked a little depth in the last game, so we are seeking the best way for Como to attack their opponents,” Fabregas told DAZN.
“Perrone wasn’t well this week, he is returning from a big injury and will go on international duty, so he was not ready to play the whole match and I prefer to have him as a fresh option off the bench. Along with that, we must be better at attacking the Milan back line.”

Does that mean Nico Paz will be in a slightly deeper position to connect the attack with the midfield this evening?
“Nico Paz is a very attacking player with talent and we want to make the most of his characteristics. He is an 8 or a 10, very young and learning a lot. I think in future he could become a great mezz’ala too, but he’s not there yet, so as a trequartista he has freedom to roam and be decisive at this moment in his career.”
Fabregas helped Como to promotion from Serie B after decades of absence, but he has already attracted interest from top clubs including Juventus. Does he see himself at Como for the future?
“I am very focused, I signed a long-term contract at Como because I saw the project and what the club wants to do. My ambition is to show what we can build here and I feel that I am at the core of this project, I am grateful to the Como fans for all they are doing. My aim is to keep looking forward.”
