Como coach Cesc Fabregas says Dele Alli is ‘only’ training with the Azzurri but is ‘glad’ to help the former Tottenham and Everton midfielder: ‘He was a fantastic player.’
Alli started training with newly promoted Serie A side Como this week but has been working separately from the first team coached by Fabregas.
He is still without a club as he hasn’t signed a contract with the Azzurri.

“He’s training well. It’s a request from the club,” Fabregas said at a press conference on Saturday, as quoted by Alfredo Pedullà.
“Perhaps he’ll do something with the rest of the team next week. He’s only here to train at the moment; we are here to help him get in shape and have positive feelings. He was a fantastic player, I played against him many times. I’m glad if I can help him rediscover himself.”
Alli has not played a competitive match for over a year, and his contract with Everton expired in June.
He recently visited the Stadio Sinigaglia in Como for the Azzurri’s 2-0 win over Roma.
A former Tottenham star, Alli scored 51 goals in 194 Premier League appearances.
Como host direct rivals Lecce at the Stadio Sinigaglia on Monday, December 30, in their last game of the year.
Fabregas’ side sit 16th in Serie A, just one point above the relegation zone.
