Former Roma manager Fabio Capello weighed in on the Serie A landscape for the upcoming 22/23 campaign and commented on his favorites of the year as well as which teams need to make some improvements.

“Let me preface this by saying that it is still very early, we still have over two months before the transfer window closes,” he told Il Giornale.

“In my opinion Inter were already very, very strong and now with Lukaku’s return they got even better and have become the favorites again.”

“I also think that Juventus are building a really good team,” he added. “They seem to have clear ideas as to what they want. They’re thinking of players for the future and for the present as well.”

“Milan also had clear ideas about what they needed but this delay in the transfer window [regarding Maldini and Massara’s renewals] is penalizing them, and the same goes for Napoli.”

“Sarri, Mourinho and Spalletti must reconfirm their qualities this year, there are no more excuses. They’ve had a full season to get to know their respective environments but this year they must to do better.”
