Easy win for Everton

Scorers: Holmgaard 3′, Finnigan 12′, Beever-Jones 70′

Everton showed their class on Sunday as they beat West Ham 3-0 to jump to fifth in the FA Women’s Super League.

It didn’t take long for the Toffees to take the lead as Karen Holmgaard netted after three minutes.

The Toffees then doubled their lead soon after as Megan Finnigan found the back of the net to leave the Hammers reeling.

Into the second half it was Aggie Beever-Jones who added some shine to the result as she scored with 20 minutes to go.

Williams winner enough for Man Utd

Scorers: Williams 87′

Rachel Williams scored late on to give Manchester United a well-deserved 1-0 win over Reading.

Manchester United could go level on points with table-toppers Chelsea with a win in Berkshire.

And they had the opportunity to take the lead late in the half as Katie Zelem was awarded a penalty.

Zelem though, had her penalty saved well as both sides went into the break with the deadlock very much in place.

Into the second half and United continued to push for a opening goal but were continually frustrated by a mix of poor finishing and good goalkeeping.

Mark Skinner’s side had 21 shots on goal going into the last 10 minutes and enjoyed 75 per cent of possession.

And that pressure eventually paid as Rachel Williams scored with three minutes to go to hand United the win.
