Arsenal v Manchester United

Scorers: Manuum 46′, Weinroither 73′; Toone 39′, Turner 85′, Russo 90′

Arsenal came into this clash as the only unbeaten side in the WSL so far this season, and they would do so in front of a near capacity crowd at the Emirates.

But it was the away side who looked most impressive early on and they made that class pay on 39 minutes as Ella Toone struck home.

The Gunners however, immediately sprung out of the gate in the second half and got their equaliser.

It was Frida Maanum whose shot took a wicket deflection and hit the back of the net as Arsenal smelled blood.

The home side made their class in front of goal pay with 15 minutes to go as Laura Wienroither scored her first ever for the club.

This brilliant game took another turn though as United fired back their own equaliser with five minutes to go thanks to Millier Turner’s header

And amazingly, right at the death, Alessia Russo netted Man United’s third to inflict Arsenal’s first defeat of the season.

Everton v Manchester City

Scorers: Sevecke 40′; Blakstad 32′, Shaw 51′

After a poor start to the season, Manchester City had won four in a row coming into this clash.

A win on Merseyside though could take them level on points with Manchester United, who were set to face Arsenal later on Saturday.

It was all City in the first half but they didn’t get their opener until the 32nd minute as Julie Blakstad found space inside the area and finished well.

But that lead didn’t last long as Everton claimed an equaliser on 40 minutes through Rikke Sevecke.

Into the second half and City soon get their noses in front again as Khadija Shaw continued her brilliant start to the season with another goal.
